Using Selection Filters in JMP 12

DanSchikore, JMP Principal Software Devloper, SAS

Local Data Filters are commonly used to analyze and visualize subsets of data in JMP, using a fixed interface for selecting ranges of continuous variables or groups of categorical variables.  The Selection Filter feature of JMP 12 enables you to use any existing JMP platform as the interface to the filter.  Rows selected in one platform are included in the linked analyses, and unselected rows are excluded.

Multiple platforms can be configured to allow additive selection, or they can be arranged for hierarchical filtering, with one Selection Filter cascading into another to narrow the selection.

JSL and Application Builder examples for Selection Filters have been uploaded to the document Using Selection Filters in JMP 12.
